the patient is "DNR" for whatever reason, they still
may want to be treated for motor vehicle fractures
(for example).
As an internatinal transport basis, we have had
patients that for religious reasons want to return
home to their original homeland as they must be buried
within 24 hours of their demise.
These are just a couple examples off the top of my
head. The entire issue of what "DNR" encompasses
opens a can of worms that begs for a better treatment
algorhythm and discussion between the health care team
and the patient as to the extent of their care. But
since I just woke up from a night shift, I won't go
there...
